15 more heritage sites in Nepal!
The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) has nominated 15 new cultural and religious sites of Nepal into the tentative list of World Heritage Sites (WHS). As reported, the sites were registered on January 30 and the information of the same has been handed over to the Department of Archaeology.

Autumn Season in full swing
With the arrival of Autumn season, the peak season for Nepal’s tourism industry, the country is all geared to welcome tourists in huge numbers. Preliminary statistics shows that majority of the star rated and tourist class hotels have already been booked for September and October season. Further international airlines such as Dragon Air, China Southern, Jet Airways, Korean Airways, Ethiad Airways, Gulf Air and Thai Airways have already sold out tickets in advance for September and October. 80 % of the bookings are based on Block booking.

New government formation
On 31 st of August, a new coalition government in Nepal has been formed under the premiership of the Maoist leader, Pushpa Kamal Dahal alias Prachanda who led a decade long insurgency against the monarchy and transformed the Himalayan nation's political change into a federal democratic republic.

Visitor Arrivals in August 2008
The figures released by Immigration Office, Tribhuvan International Airport revealed that the total visitor arrivals till August 2008 have reached to 224,679. The figures represent an increase of 2% in comparison to the same period last year. However, the arrival figures in the month of August, 2008 compared to the same month last year have decreased by 2% to 26,313. On the other hand, the tourism industry has shown some signs of revival in the form of softening in decline as compared to 19% decrease in July 2008.
