Budanilkantha to Gosaikunda Trek unveiled
Efforts has been made to introduce a new trek near Kathmandu Valley to meet the increasing need of trekkers’ expectation. The new trek called Budanilkantha to Gosaikunda Trek gives you an unparalleled experience of diverse landscape, unique culture and pristine nature. The trek opened up from August 2008 starts from Kathmandu valley and ends in Nuwakot district and spans a total of eight days.

The trek begins at an altitude of 1400m at Budanilkantha, an important religious site of both Hindus and Buddhists. The culture of authentic Tamang people is the main attraction of the route which begins right from Budanilkantha. The highest elevation reached on the trek is Gosaikunda at 4300 m. Gosaikunda is another important religious site for both Buddhists and Hindus. It is visited by pilgrims every year from all over Nepal. The major natural attraction of the trek is the stretch across the Langtang National Park which hosts such wildlife as rare Red Panda. The trek than drops down to Nuwakot Durbar, a medieval palace of the Shahs where you can see the relics and remains of Nepal’s modern history.

The major stops of the route are Bundanilkantha, Manebhanjyang, Baghmara, Sagarkunda, Akhilekunda, Gosaikunda, Kalche and Nuwakot Durbar.
