Dutch Harry helps poor children |

Harry has been coming to Nepal since 2003 and this year’s trip to Nepal turned out to be quite a fulfilling one for him. Through Himalayan Glacier Trekking 2 years ago he came to know of Child Environment Nepal (CEN), an NGO run by HGT to help poor and destitute children.
The orphanage provides food, accommodation and education to economically disadvantaged kids especially orphans. It was Harry’s dream to contribute something to the children for their wellbeing and education. After campaigning for almost a year back home in The Netherlands, Harry raised a total of 1800 Euro which was officially handed over to Sagar Pandey, Executive Director of CEN on 30 March 2008. The sum will be utilized to pay for accommodation and education expenses of the children. Himalayan Glacier has been running the orphanage for the past five years from the revenue generated by trekking trips. It currently hosts a total of 20 children. |
