Multiple Entry visa for tourists
In order to facilitate the entry of tourists to Nepal, the Nepalese government has decided to offer Multiple entry visa to all tourists. At the same time the government has scrapped the system of issuing Single Entry Visa for 60 days against US $ 30. According to the new regulation, tourists can receive 15, 30 or 90 days visa by paying US $ 25, 40 and 100 respectively. This has remained duly effective from 16 July 2008.

Foreign students visiting Nepal on education purpose has to pay US $20 to US $50 per month depending upon the nature of their academic title. Further, tourists who wish to extend their length of stay in Nepal have to pay US $2-3 per extra day. In another decision, the 3 days Gratis Visa offered to tourists before has also been discontinued by the Nepal government.

Nepalese government has also reduced the tourist entry fees in popular trekking areas. Now tourists will only have to pay US $500 for 10 days entry as against US $700 previously for entering Upper Mustang and Upper Dolpo. Similarly, the royalty fees for trekking in Manaslu region has been decreased from US$ 90 and 75 to US$ 70 and 50 respectively. The entry fee for Humla has also been deducted to US $50 from US $90.
