On 31 st of August, a new coalition government in Nepal has been formed under the premiership of the Maoist leader, Pushpa Kamal Dahal alias Prachanda who led a decade long insurgency against the monarchy and transformed the Himalayan nation's political change into a federal democratic republic.

The Maoists, who entered mainstream politics after giving up a decade-long insurgency, won the major seats in the constituent assembly election in April, 2008. But the party did not secure a majority so that they need the support of the other political parties to form a government. The Prime Minster has pledged that his government needs to bring economic & cultural revolution in the country. Newly formed government has opened the door for drafting a new constitution.
