Yes! Nepal visa is easily available up on arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport Kathmandu. Only US$30.00 will be charge for 60 days visa. In once you will get 60 days visa whether you saty less then 60 days it doesn't matter, the charge will be same.

Do you have Airport pickup facilities?

Definitely! We do have airport pick up facilities for our customers who booked our any packages. We don't charge any money. As the time you booked your trip, you should inform us, if you just join a trip only. In our full board package trip you should not inform us it is obviously informed and included. If you booked just trip join itinerary from Kathmandu to Kathmandu, should inform us we help you.

Can I just join Himalayan Glacier Treks Trip?

Yes! You can join just the trip. It will be difference in price. That is why we have many option for our clients. We do have fixed departure, Custom itinerary ( Which mean trip joining) and Trip plan where you can plan your trip yourself.

What is lodge to lodge Trek?
|
|
A small teahouse you will be staying and using for any meals during your trek. Except some places you will be provided attached bathroom but other places with sharing basis. A clean cemented or wooden framed room with two beds are available on the major trekking destination such as Annapurna, Everest and Langtang. But Langtang still remote for such facilities. Each day dinner and breakfast are used to take in the same lodge you spend the night. Where as Lunch will be taken on the way to destination, but not fixed place. All meal are prepared by well train local cook. Believe us, we take HGT's well train cook for the group more then 6 people even you are on lodge trek.

How many hours walking a day on a trek?
|
|
Roughly each day 5 to 7 hours for the 10 to 14 km distance to cover, our train guide will monitor your trekking speed for safety manner. But above 3500m, hours of walking will be same but you will walk 8 to 9 km distance each day. Himalayan Glacier Trekking is fully understand that HGT's any itineraries are flexible by days. We understand it is the adventure trip which affect by weather, geography condition and physical condition of the individual participant.

Who will be our guide?
|
|
Your guide is Nepali. But speaks very well in English. If required we can serve you through any foreign language such as French, Spanish, Japanese, German and Italian. Most of your guide came from hilly regions and mountain above 3000 m. Climbing guides are sherpas where as trekking guides are Sherpas as well as various ethnic comunity like Gurung, Magar, Rai and Brahmin.

What is the minimum group size and maximum size?

Small! Maximum 8 people. But we operate our trip even just for 1 people except some regions such as Tibet, Mustang, Dolpo, Manaslu and Kanchenjunga. Some of our agent from overseas drag a big group arround 20 people, we don'r ignore this. We respect you if you have more then 8 people we operate such trip also.

We are Nepal based company. So we suggest you to arrange your destination International flight from your hometown. Additional help will be provided for you on free on charge. All domestic flight and hotels are reserved as per itinerary but additional service also be provided if you have just joined on the trip.

What type of insurance should I have before come to Nepal? Can I get there?

Check your insurance whether you have both medical and evacuation insurance. If you need that just for the trip tell us we help you. That mean you can get here as well. Our encouragement to have it before you come and make it in your country.

We do provide most of the listing things as mention in the question. Especially in our package equipment like down sleeping bag and Jacket, Trekking poles if necessary, tents and kitchen equipments are included. But equipments such as trekking shoes, any shorts of personal equipments and climbing equipments are not included.

What are the best months and season to travel, trek and expedition?
|
|
We have main two seasons for trekking, Climbing and tours. The best months are September, October, November, December, February, March, April and May. January is also recommended for tours, safari and low altitudes trek below 4000m. Besides these months May, June, July & August are the best months for trek and tours in Nepal (Mustang, Dolpo, Rara and Simikot), Tibet (Mt. Kailash, Everest Base Camp and over all Tibet tours) and India (Ladak specially for trekking) because these areas are rain shadows and through out the year received very lass rain.

Are the foods & water on the lodges and camps hygienically standard?

Very good questions. Yes! Absolutely your foods and water are safe while you are lodge and camp trek. We provide you only when it is hygienically prepared on the lodge. Our guides are also the cook while you are on the lodge trek, he will checked while it is preparing on the kitchen & make sure everything are Okay. Most of the cooks in the local teahouses are simply train but experienced. If the group required our well trained 5 star class cooks with the crew even on the lodge trek we are more delighted to take with an additional costs. We will provide boiled with purified by tablet and bottled sealed water in case of insufficient even though we are conscious about current environmental issues. On HGT's camp crew we have good combination of Guides, Sherpas, Cooks, Kitchen staffs and Porters. Guides and cooks are technically, practically and theoretically well train where as kitchen staffs and porters are practically well train. While on the camping trek our best cooks cook you the best varieties foods, which is hygienically prepared. You will find out very rare repetition of food items on your entire trek duration. As far as drinking water is treated by boiling and water purification by medicine or with filtered.

Yes! Our guides, cooks, Sherpas and porters are fully equipped. Actually we are working in a team. We all are boss and we all are workers. We are the partner of Himalayan Explores Connections (Porters assistance project) we supply enough good clothes from this project, that's why we are different then other companies. Please compare yourself.We know there will no longer HGT with out the good staffs. HGT protect rights of the all our staffs and fully insured.

What types of equipments do your company provide on the camping trek?
|
|
We do have both International as well as national branded tents, sleeping bags and down jackets. Dome Tents are used for high altitudes adventures and A shaped Tent for the low altitudes trek. Thick Mattress, Down sleeping bags with liner and pillow, Neet kitchen equipments, the right way of garbage dispatches on the camping trek are granted on our operation.

What does grading (Strenuous, Moderate, Easy) means?
|
|
Himalayan Glacier Trekking measures the following grades; the following guide can help you choose a trek or climb that best suits your fitness level and experience. Please keep in mind that this is a general guide only. A variety of factors, including weather, may add to the challenge.
Easy
No special physical preparation required; usually on very good paths or trails; generally at lower altitudes; no previous experience required. Walking up to 7 hours a day; possibility of walking on snow and glaciers below 4100m; general good fitness and physical preparation preferred (e.g., jogging or hiking both uphill and downhill 6-8 weeks before arrival); increased time at higher altitudes; no previous experience required.
Moderate
Walking 7 hours plus a day; crossing high altitude passes; physical preparation required; some long and demanding days; increased time in remote areas and at higher altitudes; need a positive attitude and a strong determination; previous hiking/camping experience preferred. Infect physical and mental preparation; No technical experience need
Strenuous
As above, with additional very long days; crossing 5240m one or more high passes in one trek; high altitude passes over difficult terrain in remote areas; excellent physical condition required with a positive attitude and a strong determination; rock and ice climbing experience; ropes and climbing equipment (e.g., ice axe and crampons) may be used; previous hiking/camping experience are highly recommended.
