TIMS for Trekkers in Nepal |

The Trekking Information Management System (TIMS) have been effective in Nepal since the start of 2008. Now those tourists willing to go trek in any of the areas of Nepal is required to fill up the TIMS registration forms. The forms are available from all trekking agencies, Nepal Tourism Board and the office of Trekking Agents Association of Nepal free of cost.
TIMS is being implemented jointly by TAAN and NTB to monitor and keep the database of trekkers for the latter’s safety and security. It is often that trekkers get lost in the rural areas of Nepal while trekking. It is believed that TIMS will further help in ensuring safety to the trekkers and at the same time provide valuable information about the trend of tourists for future research and study.
